GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels is a funnel and course platform with a CRM. GoHighLevel is a CRM and messaging platform with funnels. That difference decides most choices.

GoHighLevel and ClickFunnels compared side by side on CRM, messaging and funnels

Short answer

Choose GoHighLevel if you sell services, need SMS, phone, booking and pipelines, or run an agency with several clients. Choose ClickFunnels if you sell digital products, courses or offers online and want a funnel-first platform. At the time of writing (October 2026) both start at $97 a month, but they are built for different jobs.

GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels comes down to what sits at the centre of your business. ClickFunnels is a funnel and course platform that has added a CRM. GoHighLevel is a CRM and messaging platform that includes funnels. Both build landing pages and sell things online, but they are designed around different jobs.

If you sell services, book appointments and follow up by text and phone, GoHighLevel fits better. If you sell digital products, courses or offers through funnels, ClickFunnels is built for that.

The pattern is clear. Everything ClickFunnels is good at, GoHighLevel can do adequately. Several things GoHighLevel is good at, especially phone, SMS, booking and reputation, are not part of what ClickFunnels lists on its plans.

When ClickFunnels is the better choice

  1. You sell digital products or courses and the funnel is your shop.
  2. Your sales happen online without a phone call. No booking, no quote, no visit.
  3. You want a funnel-first tool whose templates, training and community are all about funnels and offers.
  4. You do not need SMS or a phone system in the same platform.

For an info-product business, ClickFunnels' focus is a real advantage. Everything in the product points at the checkout.

It is also simpler to learn. There are fewer settings, fewer moving parts and far less to configure before you can sell something. If you are a solo creator who will build and run everything yourself, that simplicity is worth something, and GoHighLevel's breadth would mostly be unused menus you have to step around.

When GoHighLevel is the better choice

  1. You sell services that involve an enquiry, a conversation and often a booking.
  2. Speed of follow-up matters. Missed-call text-back and instant SMS replies are native.
  3. You run an agency and want one platform and one bill for several clients, with white-labelling.
  4. You want one inbox for SMS, email, Facebook, Instagram and web chat.
  5. Reviews matter to your business, as they do for nearly every local service.

GoHighLevel for local businesses covers the service-business case in detail.

The page builder itself

For building pages day to day, the two are closer than the marketing suggests. Both use drag-and-drop editors with templates, forms, order forms and upsells. ClickFunnels has the longer history and a large template library aimed at offers. GoHighLevel's builder is perfectly capable for landing pages, lead magnets and booking pages, and its forms feed directly into the CRM and workflows.

Neither is a replacement for a website built to rank in search. GoHighLevel funnels and websites explains where that line sits and why I usually recommend a proper website with funnels on a subdomain.

A hypothetical comparison

Say a physiotherapy clinic with two practitioners is choosing between the two. Its process is: enquiry by phone or form, booking, reminders, treatment, follow-up appointments and a review request.

On ClickFunnels, it would most likely need separate tools for two-way SMS, phone follow-up and review requests, and possibly for booking. On GoHighLevel, all of those sit in one sub-account with workflows connecting them.

Now say an online fitness coach sells a £49 programme through ads, with no calls. On GoHighLevel they would use a fraction of the platform. On ClickFunnels, the whole product is aimed at what they do.

Courses, memberships and communities

Both platforms host courses and member areas, and this is where the comparison is closest. ClickFunnels has long treated courses as part of its core offer, with the number of courses rising by plan at the time of writing. GoHighLevel includes memberships, courses and communities on every plan, alongside everything else.

For someone whose main product is a course, the deciding factor is usually the rest of the business. If students arrive through ads and a checkout, and support happens by email, ClickFunnels covers it. If students arrive through discovery calls, need reminders for live sessions and get texted when they fall behind, GoHighLevel's messaging and workflows do more of the work.

Either way, do not choose on the course player alone. Both are adequate, and neither will match a dedicated learning platform if courses are a large, complex part of what you sell.

Questions to answer before choosing

Work through these honestly and the choice usually makes itself:

  1. How do customers buy from you? Online checkout points to ClickFunnels. A conversation, quote or booking points to GoHighLevel.
  2. Do you text customers? If yes, and you want replies in the same system, GoHighLevel.
  3. How many contacts will you have in a year? ClickFunnels caps contacts per plan; GoHighLevel does not, but charges for messaging.
  4. How many businesses or brands will you run? Several clients or brands favour GoHighLevel's sub-accounts.
  5. Who will build and maintain it? ClickFunnels is narrower and easier to learn. GoHighLevel does more and needs more configuration.
  6. What else do you already pay for? If you already have a CRM and booking system you are happy with, a funnel-only tool may be all you need.

Switching from ClickFunnels to GoHighLevel

If you decide to move, treat it as a rebuild rather than a migration. Export contacts as CSV and import them with consent fields mapped. Rebuild the funnels that still earn their place, which is often fewer than you have. Rebuild email sequences as GoHighLevel workflows, and only then point your domain at the new pages. Migrating to GoHighLevel from another CRM covers the order that avoids sending customers duplicate messages during the switch.

What about agencies?

For agencies the decision is usually straightforward. ClickFunnels has no white-label model and charges per workspace, while GoHighLevel was built for agencies managing many clients. GoHighLevel white-label and SaaS mode covers how agencies resell it. The existing comparison of GoHighLevel vs HubSpot covers the other platform agencies most often weigh up.

Verdict

  • Service business, local business or agency: GoHighLevel.
  • Digital products, courses, online offers without calls: ClickFunnels.
  • Both: GoHighLevel for the CRM and messaging, with funnels inside it, is usually simpler than running two platforms.

The GoHighLevel guide covers the platform as a whole. If you have decided on GoHighLevel and want your funnels and follow-up rebuilt properly, my GoHighLevel service covers the move and the build.

Questions about this

If yours isn't here, send it over — I reply within one working day.

At entry level they cost the same: $97 a month for each at the time of writing. GoHighLevel includes unlimited contacts on every plan but charges usage for email, SMS and phone. ClickFunnels caps contacts by plan. For an agency with several clients, GoHighLevel is usually cheaper per client because sub-accounts are unlimited from the $297 plan.

Not automatically in any reliable way. Pages generally need rebuilding in the GoHighLevel editor, though contacts can be exported as CSV and imported. Treat a move as a rebuild: it is a good opportunity to drop funnels that no longer convert and rewrite the ones that do, rather than copying everything across.

At the time of writing, ClickFunnels' pricing page does not list native SMS or a built-in phone system among its plan features; it focuses on funnels, email, courses and a CRM pipeline. GoHighLevel includes two-way SMS and calling through its LC Phone system. If texting customers is central to your process, that difference alone usually decides it.
